CIHI indicators demonstrate that access to MHSU services remains a challenge and, in some cases, has worsened over time. At the same time, constraints within the MHSU health workforce — including availability, vacancies and the delivery of services — play an important role in access to services. Considering health workforce data alongside indicator trends offers additional context for understanding patterns in access to care.
Canadians face barriers in accessing MHSU services across the country, and further disparities are observed across geographic settings — consistent with findings from similar reports.
